Kevin from North Perth finds out why Sony gets “Raided” again….

Certain Sony VIAO laptops use 2 MiniSATA (not to be confused with mSATA) drives in RAID(get the joke?) to act as the main hard drive in the computer. The problem with this is that the hard drive then uses a special connector to connect it to the computer, making data recovery very difficult.

IMAG0432Kevin from North Perth brought his laptop in and needed the data off it. Sadly the drive is one of these special raided drives with a non standard connector. This means that for us to get the data off it we need to order in hardware just for it, and sadly for this model it is not cheap.

So make sure you back up all your data, no matter what kind of computer you have, it will help.
