Compaq Repairs

From 1996 to 2000 Compaq had the highest market share worldwide with 10% in 1996 then hitting its peak in 1998 at 13.8% then slowing back down to 12.8% by 2000. In 2002 Compaq was bought out by HP and they quickly rose to the top 3 by 2013. Even though Compaq computers are among the top 3 in market share world wide, there is very little support for them locally.

Because of Compaq’s unique designs the laptops tend to be on the harder side to repair but Computer Mechanics has been repairing laptops like these for many years and has experience with all models.

A RAM (Memory) or Hard Drive (Storage) upgrade can be performed with minimal effort and cost to you. Just bring it in for us and we will take a look at it for you.

Due to Compaq’s laptop design choices repairs on the laptop can take a bit longer than most other brands and because of the complexity it is generally risky for people to blindly pull them apart. We do many Compaq repairs here so head over to our Laptop Repairs page for more details.

Why do we repair Compaq laptops?

Compaq is owned by HP and having one service center deal with such a huge range of laptops their out of warranty section does end up a little busy. Some Compaq repairs have been reported to take up to 1-2 weeks or more depending on what has gone wrong.

With Computer Mechanics we do all Compaq repairs in our East Perth workshop. We have the fastest Compaq repairs turn around with parts being 1-2 days away if we don’t have them in stock.
