National security changes all made clear
The Government is moving responsibility for Australian cyber security in-house; taking principal responsibility away from the Qld Uni/private companies AusCert and giving it to the Attorney General's Department, renaming it CERT.
A fine piece of Rudd-speak at the announcement: "CERT represents the fulcrum of the business-government partnership on cyber security by providing business, for the first time, with a single point of contact with the government for (threat) information." Here at Computer Mechanics we like to think of ourselves as the fulcrum of the client-computer repair business partnership. In an integrated, single point of contact kind of way.
