  • Skin as keyboard

    Microsoft and Carnegie Mellon Uni in the states have prototyped 'skinput', which lets you tap on your body instead of clicking a key. You can also project buttons on to yourself so you can like, interface and interarm. The video on this page is pretty exciting but it finishes abruptly - maybe someone put on a coat during the filming.

    The WiMax wireless internet offering from Vivid Wireless is now available in Perth, the first market in Australia to have it. Here's some comment from Gizmodo and there's some discussion about prices here. If you can't get fixed line broadband but want a fast connection it's a logical choice. Compares well to 3G unless you're a light user. www.vividwireless.com.au

Google Priority Inbox

Google's doing that thing they do again; improving their products. Gmail is introducing Priority Inbox, giving you the ability to automatically prioritise your email based on which emails you've previously read and/or replied to. If you need a web based email account, Gmail is the go.

An American security guy has demonstrated how he can intercept mobile calls on the GSM mobile phone network using relatively cheap hardware. Scary stuff since that network is the world's most popular and is predominant in Australia. Newer network technologies (3G) are not vulnerable. *Going back to pen and ink*.

Searching in Outlook
